Peace-out!

I'm feeling hippy today

Fact

Fact:

When I take public transport, I plug into my ipod and sometimes I pretend I'm in a music video.

What it feels like to have a hangover in your mid-twenties

1) You wake up thinking you never even slept.
2) You wake up thinking about some things/people who are not meant to be thought of
3) You wake up thinking "I'm really too old to be doing this".
4) You wake up thinking "I really just want a piece of french toast. RIGHT NOW."
5) You wake up thinking "I really want to take a dump on the can."
6) You wake up with last night's club music still playing in your head, in this case, it's Britney's "Hold it against me".
7) You wake up with a MASSIVE, incorrigible headache.

謝安琪 《脆弱》

怎麼會那麼好聽?

A limited perspective on net-casters

A report I submitted to MOJ, reviewed and approved by the "Queen" herself.

This might end up as some sort of partial philosophy thesis.

Why men/women cast nets.
By Joyce T.

It all boils down to one word: loneliness

Human beings do not stand alone. We’re constantly seeking out groups/cliques/categories to belong to. We label ourselves. We HAVE to move in packs.
If one is alone, he/she feels compelled by social stigma to find one or more individuals to bond so that he/she does not feel “loser-ish”.
What CK did was a classic, textbook case of “needing” someone by his side. We could put it down to several possible reasons:

1)      He may be the only one, or one of the few ‘leftovers’ in his social circle and feels the need to fit in with the rest of his friend, thus, needing a partner. Nothing morally wrong with that. It is a natural process.
2)      His biological clock is ticking, and his evolutionary instincts are telling him to find the ‘right’ one—the person who he deems fit to be the mother of his future child who would carry on his ‘fine genes’. This again, has nothing morally wrong about it. Merely survivor of the fittest. If he doesn’t find someone, he would be deemed useless in our ecosystem and in the next generation of evolution, his type/genes will be lost.
3)      He could be a stereotypical male-human being in our society, the kind who only thinks with their dick, in which case, he would be a dick himself and that is morally wrong. This reason is most easily determined by behavioural symptoms. However, we do not have enough evidence to establish if CK is acting upon his manly instincts.
4)      Other reasons that I could not think of on my teeny tiny puny brain. Not at this time, without any caffeine infused into my bloodstream.

Similarly, women are guilty of the same above charges, not so much of (3), but we certainly cannot say there aren’t any. We’ve to give them the benefit of the doubt that they are doing this sub-consciously. Suppose X is dating A,B,C and D and finally ends up with E, we cannot accuse X of being a promiscuous bitch/dick. We have to consider the possibility of A,B,C and D not being the right fit and X needs to go on these dating rounds to finally determine that E is for him/her. We could cross-reference to points (1) and (2) above-mentioned and just blame it on evolution.

In conclusion, if CK sincerely meant no harm in doing what he did, the only reaction would be to accept that you were part of a “biological experiment”, suck thumb and let go.

The good ones are all taken

The good ones are all taken
Analogy taken from Mr. Jeff

This blog entry is inspired from the fact that somebody's latest crush is also attached.
Life's a bitch.

I expand it further thus.

All the good ones are taken, what's left are up for clearance sale.
I am left AGHAST.
This means Mother of Natalie, is completely unwanted goods.
KL reckons she's second-hand goods then
Well then, I, reckon Mother of Natalie has been sitting in the farthest end on the warehouse shelf, unseen.
Except when anybody (if at all) finds it, it's bloody expired.
Oh right, there was a weird period of time.
I suppose someone did accidentally knock this porcelain doll off the shelf, played and tossed around her hands and decidedly stuffed it back to the remotest corner of the same figurative shelf.

Darling, if you're reading this...what do you think of it?

"Only unfulfilled love can be romantic."

-Vicky Cristina Barcelona (Movie)

Picked this up from one of the intern's facebook page.

And I happened to like this movie.

I'm worried about you

I know I can be such a cliche, I know, right?
For somebody who totally acted like a jerk to me, I'm still freaking concerned and worried.
It's not the same feelings as before, of course, this time, it's like all my motherly instincts are activated by this person's grief.
And when this person is refusing to open up and talk, I get so worried I can't sleep well myself.
Where did all these motherly instincts come from? Seriously.
Reb even called me the super nanny.
I mean, if I know somebody needs help, and I can help, (and seriously even if I can't), I can't really just leave that person in the lurch.

I might seem a little pushy trying to get you to respond to me, but it's only because you're important and mean a lot ok? Let me and our other friends help you through your difficult time leh..
GAH

Frustrations.

What makes me feel like a teenager

1) Blogging about "stuff"

2) Listening to songs that were from "that era" (and unfortunately age-revealing)

3) Plugged into my ipod dressed in comfy clothes at Macdonald's

4) Being irritable and antsy.. but that could just be Aunty Amber on her way

5) Having a body/hair/face issue

6) Writing stuff like these, especially (9) and feeling embarrassed and awkward, like, right now.

7) Using the words "like" and "stuff" excessively

8) Watching downloaded Twilight (no way am I spending money to watch this in the theaters..I still care about my street cred ok)

9) You.

10) Having a tumblr.

i'm feeling a little Santana today

I'm feeling a little Santana today...
I'm angry because I'm missing something...
And I shouldn't be
I'm angry at the fact that I can't verbalize it.
At least, not out loud to anyone.

How to spend a Sunday afternoon doing nothing productive but appearing othewrise

Because I have nothing much to do on a Sunday afternoon
After brunch with my Shanghai-withdrawal Support Group
"Lionel (sombrely) : Let's all hold hands." *Eight sets of droopy shoulders*

Quickly fell asleep on my very warm bed. I forgot to open the windows.
I might have died from cooking. It's actually a lot like pressure cooking, isn't it? I wonder if that's possible?

Woke up and whatsapped a ton of people. In an attempt to keep relationships alive.
By NOT talking on the phone, much less face-to-face.
Oh the irony.

Inspiration to blog/maintain my blog/tumblr.
Seriously, why I am maintaining 2 blogs is just slightly beyond me. I suppose if I have to, I could rationalize it--tumblr is visual based and sometimes, seeing something is just more powerful. However, no one is ever wordy on Tumblr and I. SERIOUSLY. DO have the urge for verbal diarrhea every once in a while. Only a blog can satisfy me that way. *smacks lips*

Blog-spied.

Mused about jogging but the sun became the best excuse ever.
Thank you very much. I am going to be fat and un-hawt for, like, ever.

Gave up thoughts about jogging and continue to spy on blogs.

Excessive blogging right now.

-Pride & Prejudice

A list of people I wanted to grow up to be

When you're almost approaching one-third or one-quarter of your life (I seriously have no idea when I will plop suddenly and bid adieus to this world), you start thinking about the could-have-beens and what-ifs because your life is more or less a) fixed in a 9 to 5 oh-so-not-exciting job b) stuck in a rut with a crappy(or not) partner. You start to wonder again if things would turned out differently if you pursued all the different jobs you wrote about in your English class compositions in Primary school.

a) "My ambition is to be a teacher"
Yeah, like, SO NOT. This was my first ambition in primary school because, really, teachers were the only people you knew who had jobs. You never understood that the hawkers, postmen, newspaper guy, convenience store keepers were working too. And of course I peeked at my classmate's composition and everyone wrote the same. Mrs Kwok might have been pleased with the overwhelming response and gratified by the thought that she has inspired an entire generation to grow up to be "nurturers" or she might have simply rolled her eyes. But now, uh huh, no. I don't think so. If the kids haven't managed to kill me with their nonsense, I might be on the headlines for "Classroom massacre". I'm not so warm and fuzzy.

b) I wanted to be a policeman/detective.
That was when I started reading Nancy Drew and the Enid Blyton series on the "Five find-outers and Dog" and there was a period of time when SBC/TCS/TVB were producing plenty of TV series based on crimes and smart-ass detectives. I thought it was really cool to chase after the baddies and shout "Freeze! Or I'll shoot!"
Unfortunately, I can't even run to save my own life. 'nuff said.

C) I wanted to become a lawyer.
Yeah, this was still in Primary school. Ideals change a lot more frequently back then, I guess since we still had a lot of time to change our directions. I remembered being very inspired by a drama series starring Fann Wong and god knows who else.

D) And then I thought I could be an actress
Not really a TV actress, I aspired more to work in the theatres, maybe even in musicals (like a very localized Broadway). My first encounter with drama was in Sec 3 and it was so liberating to just let loose and be somebody else. You become an observer of your surroundings, you try to feel what others are feeling, you guess and you search for realistic responses to different scenarios and try to incorporate them into your acting so you can deliver something other people might believe in. I loved it. After A levels I joined a artiste management school and learnt TV acting, dancing and singing there.  (They were training their students to be all-rounded artistes. Very ambitious.) I love the acting coach there and I think my confidence grew pretty much. TV acting is much more into details because obviously in theaters, I can hardly see the actors' faces, much less their features. And if you know me IRL, yes, I am a drama queen. :)

E) Oh, then I thought I could sing for a living.
(Except unless you're a superstar, you earn next to peanuts.)
Hire me for your weddings!

F) Maybe I could write
HA HA HA

A Short List of People you will find in my workplace

1) Scary colleagues
2) Friendly colleagues
3) Funny people
4) Serious people
5) People who can't afford proper pants
6) People who can't afford a haircut
7) People who look like they should be having high tea and shopping at Prada instead of earning a salary
8) People who get high when the clock strikes 18:00
9) People who eat too much/ don't have time to eat
10) People who don't seem to eat.

Balloons

I drew this over lunch, was extremely inspired last night by MOJ (Mother of Jolene)
This is me/her/you/us.
The girl's hand is bleeding from a string cut when the balloon she's holding on so tightly got swept by the wind so suddenly it jerks away and cuts sharply on her palm.
It leaves the little girl balloon-less, injured and scraped off her innocence.
Ironically, the balloon is heart-shaped.
Does love come as suddenly and quickly and flees away instantaneously with no sign or warning?
We may never know.
But it definitely hurts when it does.
Just like the little girl.

see me crystal clear

Right.

I've decided to start afresh after my old blog decided to ditch me. Seriously. Just because I left you alone for 6months? You decided to turn your back on me?
Am I not allowed to take a sabbatical?!
You back-stabbing heartless bitch of a blog!

So here I am, back to the old-school blogger. Time has not allowed me to "zhng" it to aesthetical-perfection yet, but I will.

So, はじめまして new blog!
Help me to see myself crystal clear again!
